For those of you who don't know about Australia day... here's a little bit of history.
The official national
day of Australia, January 28th commemorates the arrival of the First Fleet at
Sydney Cove in 1788 and the proclamation, at that time, of British sovereignty
over the eastern seaboard of Australia (known then as New Holland). The first official celebration of the
formation of New South Wales was held in 1818, although there are records of
celebrations dating back a decade earlier.
Today, Australia
Day is an official public holiday and has become the biggest annual civic event
in Australia with community festivals, concerts and citizenship ceremonies happening
across the country. And.... perhaps a few in Cayman!
Cayman is home to people from all over the world. If you are thinking about relocating to Cayman to live and work, explore our current job opportunities.
