Stress, Your Brain and Excercise

We are all familiar with the "This is Your Brain on Drugs"  advertisements which ran in the media a few years ago. But did you know that chronic stress holds similar dangers for your brain? Research has shown that consistently high levels of stress triggers the release of a chemical called "TMT" into the brain which then disrupts working memory, cripples short term memory and reduces creativity and decision making ability. 


Fortunately, according to the American Psychology Association, recent research suggests that exercise helps the brain to counteract the negative effects of stress by fuelling the brains stress buffers. Read the full article here.
