Who you know or what you know?

A recent study by Right Management has stated that the greater percentage of employees believe the mantra it is who you know rather than what you know that helps you get ahead in your professional surroundings. According to this recent study only 39% of those surveyed believe that job performance reflects individual progression.
What do you think – is it who you know, or what you know, that makes a difference??
