Temporary recruitment is on the up

Here at SteppingStones, we assist our clients with both permanent and temporary recruitment. My role is to assist our clients with all of their temporary staffing needs - anything from a 1-day sick cover to a 3 month maternity leave to the longer-term temp-to-hire roles. 


In the past couple of years, temporary recruitment in Cayman has increased quite a bit and a lot of our clients are more inclined to go this route, for a variety of reasons. But it's not just Cayman that is noticing this trend - I recently came across an article on hrmagazine.co.uk which confirmed that "demand for temporary works in the financial services industry continues to rise as the ongoing economic uncertainty puts hirers off recruitment permanent candidates."


Having said that, we are still very busy on the permanent side as well so you should not give up hope of having that permanent job security, but it is also good to keep an open mind and be aware of the benefits of temping. Temping is not as scary as it is usually perceived to be, and it can often be the foot in the door that you need or can really enhance your skill-set.
