Reward your staff and do it now!

I recently read a very interesting article in the UK edition of People Management, entitled ‘The Power of Instant Recognition’. It focused on how employers not only need to recognize their employee’s achievements, but they need to do it there and then. The article is based on the notion of recognition and rewards equaling retention, motivation and engagement. To provide instant recognition when something positive has been achieved, the psychological impact on the individual is far greater than if the recognition comes later that day or later that week.
