It’s getting to that time of year where everyone starts to reflect and ponder. We talk about the highs and lows of 2012, and the expectations and hopes for 2013. This is not only applicable in our personal lives but also extends to our professional world.
A recent article on the Forbes.com website was entitled “The Top Jobs for 2013”. Interestingly, Software Developer came out on top. Given the growth and expansion in the IT market in Cayman over the past 6-9 months, this is something that comes as no surprise. In the runner up spot, Accountants and Auditors appear. According to the studies carried out 31,100 jobs of this nature have been added since 2010 which is a 3% increase. The third place goes to Market Research Analysts and Marketing Specialists. Although this is not something we’ve seen a huge amount of in 2012, it seems that Marketing and Business Development roles are becoming more sought after and will certainly be on the up here in Cayman in 2013.
So interesting times lie ahead in a job market that is constantly changing and evolving. I for one am very excited to see what 2013 brings for recruitment in the Cayman Islands.
